I’m just going say this straight…

The last 18 months have been some of the toughest in my business career.

Just 7 days out from what would have been our largest live event  ever, with more than 2,500 delegates coming from 6 countries around the world, our Prime Minister announced, “No public gatherings of more than 500 people”.

What followed, was a relentless stream of issues that drained  myself, Joe and the entire team to well-past empty status.

It was hard.

But here’s the thing…

As an established company, we were in a much better position to weather the storm than many other small businesses around the world, including many people from within our own community who  were just trying to make their first dollar on Amazon.

The last 18 months have been extremely challenging for Amazon  sellers

  • Supply chains have been disrupted
  • Shipping costs have skyrocketed
  • Amazon only allowed essential products for several months

On top of all that, we have been forced into isolation, separated from the very thing we need to survive the soul-challenging journey  that is entrepreneurship – COMMUNITY!

    Live events will always be very important to me because they are what stopped me from quitting on what turned out to be the most life changing business I’ve ever owned – my Amazon FBA business.

    I spent the first 6 months of my Amazon journey struggling. I was living in Los Angeles and knew hardly anyone. I had bought an online course but it had taken me only so far.

    I thought I had a great product. The market was not too competitive. My product was visually differentiated. My price wasn’t too high.

    One of my mates saw that post and asked me to join him at a live Amazon event that was happening in Las Vegas later that month. I   was demoralised but I decided to go anyway.

    Lucky I did because in one session at that live event, one Amazon seller said one thing that changed everything for me. I discovered the one thing that I had missed and everything changed.

    Within 90-days, my struggling product that was doing about $1,200 per month in sales, grew to doing $50,000 per month and I never looked back.

    In 2021, Covid and the risk of Local Government Areas, State or National lockdowns is a very real issue that affects every live event in the world these days.

    Planning and producing a live event presents risk for both the organiser, the venues, and indeed the attendees. We need to protect our attendees and balance that with the risk that a business undertakes when staging a live event in these times.

    We are planning an amazing event for you, which will not make our business a profit. The ticketing revenue just covers the $300,000 it will cost to stage an event of this nature.

    So, here is a simple table that shows the risk triggers, and protections, when you buy a ticket to Platinum Live:

    Venue & Accommodation

    When is it?

    Pre-registration for the in person event starts on Friday, November 12th but the event officially starts on Saturday November 13th and finishes on Sunday November 14th.

    Where is it?

    Saturday 13th November is being held at The Star Gold Coast in Broadbeach on the Gold Coast, Australia, Sunday 14th November venue is somewhere fabulous TBC.

    Ticketing

    Can I bring my partner?

    Yes, you can bring your partner and they need to purchase a ticket. This event is not being run at a profit, therefore there are no discounted tickets for this event.

    Can I just turn up and buy a ticket on the day?

    No. This event is only open to members of Platinum Partners, Unify and their business or life partner. Due to Covid restrictions, all attendees must be registered well in advance as seats are assigned for Covid tracing purposes.

    General Questions

    Will there be an option to buy a Virtual Event ticket rather than attending in person?

    No, we are selling tickets to a Live, in-person event. Virtual Event tickets are only available to Platinum Partners and Unify members who are located outside of Australia.

    For Platinum Partners and Unify members in Australia, your Live Event ticket will convert to a Virtual Event ticket only in the event that you are prevented from attending due to Government intervention or travel restrictions (please refer to the Trigger table above and contact platinum@reliable.education).

    Will we get the recordings of the event?

    Recordings will be available post event at a cost of $197. This is to offset the cost of hiring the team to record and edit the entire day, including 8 breakout sessions, which is not factored into our $300,000 budget.

    Virtual Event ticket holders will receive copies of the recordings which is included in their ticket purchase.

    Will the speakers be there in person or are they attending via Zoom or video?

    We are hoping that all (except one speaker) will be there in person, however Covid creates all kinds of variables.

    How many people will be at the event?

    We are expecting between 400-500 people to be at this event.

    Are we allowed to record the event?

    No recording or live-streaming other than doing short posts to your social media will be allowed. However, we do encourage you to take photos!

    Safety

    What Covid protocols will be in place?

    We will follow the State Government and venue Guidelines/Regulations at the time of the event. More information will be provided as appropriate.

    Are you going to be enforcing a mask policy?

    We will be following State/City/Venue guidelines for masks and overall safety. Our ability to host this event will be determined by following the rules and regulations at the time of the event.

    Can you tell me what health and safety precautions are going to be in place?

    We will be adhering to Queensland Health Department instructions and the hotels policies and guidelines that are in place at the time of the event.

    Do I need a Vaccine to attend?

    We will be following Government guidelines and regulations, however at this time, we doubt that Australians will need to be vaccinated to attend an event like this. That being said, any health and safety related questions are subject to change.
